University of Northampton vice-chancellor Nick Petford says the UK must find the "best way forward" following the vote for Britain to leave the EU.

Prof Petford signed a letter before the vote from universities saying they would suffer outside the Union, but he now says he "respects the vote", adding there have been "reassuring noises" from government.
