Mo Farah aiming for marathons after 2017 world champs

Mo Farah has said his future lies in competing in the marathon after the London 2017 world athletics championships.

β€œNext year, I’ll give it a go, 2017 world championships and then after that we’ll decide what I want to do. I think I want to continue to see what I can do on the road in the marathon. That’s my aim," Farah told 5 live Sport.

β€œ2017, I’d like to end it on the track, and then after that we’ll go on and see what I can do in the marathon.

β€œWe just have to take one year at a time. In long distance, you can’t plan too far ahead. You can’t rule it (competing in the marathon at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics) out,” he added.

Farah won his fourth Olympic gold as he became only the second man to retain the 5,000m and 10,000m titles. The 33-year-old triumphed in the 5,000m final in Rio to extend his tally as Britain's most successful Olympic track and field athlete of all time.
