Nicola Adams could ‘set alight’ women’s pro boxing says brother
Nicola Adams’ brother thinks that she could be the one to raise the profile of women’s professional boxing after defending her Olympic title in Rio.
Kurtis Adams told 5 live: “It would be nice to see her defend in Tokyo, but there are other options in the pro game available to her now.â€
Adams became the first British boxer to retain their Olympic title in 92 years by winning gold in the women’s flyweight division.
After all her success, Kurtis thinks a move to the pros could now be on the cards: “The sport is not heavily publicised, but I feel as though Nicola could set the pro game alight and get it to the same level as the men’s.â€
