Laura Trott’s Dad: ‘She wants to be a winner, but doesn’t count the wins’

Laura Trott became the first British woman to win three Olympic gold medals on Day 8 of Rio 2016. She and the three other members of the women’s cycling pursuit team - Joanna Rowsell-Shand, Elinor Barker and Katie Archibald - took gold in the velodrome, setting a new world record.

Adrian Trott - Laura’s dad - spoke to 5 live Breakfast about his daughter’s achievement: “She wants to be a winner, but doesn’t actually count the wins. She’ll just continue with that big happy smiley face that she’s got.â€

Laura’s boyfriend Jason Kenny competes in the men’s sprint final against fellow Team GB member Callum Skinner on Day 9. Adrian said: “Last night, in jest, his mother said, what sort of offspring they might produce – most likely a concert pianist!â€
