New York or Chernobyl - where is safer to live?
Chernobyl was the site of the world's worst nuclear accident in 1986. But the area around the former power station in Ukraine has recovered with wildlife and plants flourishing. Environmentalist Mark Lynas has written several books on the environment and is a frequent speaker around the world on climate change, biotechnology and nuclear power and now works with the Cornell Alliance for Science, funded entirely by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. He says major cities around the world are more dangerous places to live.
