As part of its renewable energy plan, the Ukrainian government is asking for finance to help it build a large solar power plant. The land they would like to use is inside the "exclusion zone" set up to protect people from radiation after the Chernobyl nuclear power plant went into meltdown in 1986. But there are concerns that it could actually damage the area, as Newsday's Alan Kasujja heard from environmentalist Mark Lynas.
