Women's Triathlon ft GB's Jenkins, Stanford and Holland
Full triathlon coverage. GB's former world champions Helen Jenkins and Non Stanford feature despite injuries, while fellow Brit Vicky Holland won bronze at Glasgow 2014.
Full coverage of the women's triathlon from Fort Copacabana.
As in the men's triathlon, Britain is strongly represented in this event with three athletes capable of challenging for medals. Helen Jenkins and Non Stanford are both former world champions and should feature, even if problems with injuries have threatened to derail their progress.
Vicky Holland, the third Brit, won the bronze medal in the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
All of them face a daunting challenge to finish ahead of Gwen Jorgensen, the American who has dominated this event for the past two years.
However, her defeat to Jenkins earlier this year has given the Brits - and all other rivals - hope that she is not unbeatable.
