Men's Final - Denmark v France
Full coverage. Denmark go into the medal match as significant underdogs against all-conquering France - this will be their first medal of any colour in men's handball.
Full coverage of the men's gold medal match between Denmark and France from the Future Arena.
Denmark go into this gold medal match as significant underdogs against all-conquering France, particularly as this will be their first medal of any colour in men's handball. The men have lived in the shadow of their female counterparts - winners three times in succession between 1996 and 2004 - and needed overtime to see off Poland 29-28 in a thrilling semi-final.
France on the other hand are aiming to become the first country to win three straight Olympic men's handball gold medals. They beat Denmark 33-30 in the group stage and, despite a battle with Germany in the semi-finals, they made it through and will be full of confidence. However, although France also beat Denmark in the 2011 World Championship and the 2014 European Championship, a gold medal match at the Olympics Games is a different matter and this promises to be an exciting contest.
