Proms interval talk: Shakespeare, soldiers and war
In the first of a series of six talks about Shakespeare and aspects of professional life examined in his plays, Colonel Tim Collins OBE, whose rousing eve of battle speech to his troops as they prepared to go into Iraq in March 2003 has become famous, will discuss the depiction of soldiers and war in Shakespeare’s work.
The discussion is presented by Rana Mitter who is a regular presenter of Radio 3’s Arts and Ideas programme Free Thinking and of Sunday Features. He is Professor of the history and politics of modern china at Oxford University.
