Neal Gray, the grandfather of six year old Ellie Butler - who was murdered by her father, talks to Peter Allen.
Ellie was killed less than a year after she'd been returned to her parents - after her father's conviction for violently shaking her was overturned.
This week, Ben Butler was jailed for at least 23 years for killing Ellie. Her mother, Jennie Gray was sentenced to 42 months for child cruelty.
A serious case review has now heavily criticised Mrs Justice Hogg, the senior family court judge who ruled Ellie should be returned to her parents.
Until that point, Neal and his late wife Linda had looked after Ellie for 5 years - and he warned the judge she would have "blood on her hands" if anything happened to his granddaughter.
