Boris: UK population will rise 'inexorably' if we stay in EU

Former Mayor of London and Leave supporter Boris Johnson has said he "dismisses" the criticism, some of it very personal, that just came from Sir John Major.

Speaking to Andrew Marr, he said the public want to hear the real arguments, about the economy, immigration, and so on.

He went on to defend the Β£350m claim that has been so widely criticised.

He said "all we're suggesting" is that the UK "loses control" of that much money - not that all of it is lost to the EU - and if the country voted for Brexit that control could be returned.

On immigration, he says it's "a question of democracy" and the UK currently has no say on who comes here.
