The Sunday Feature: Calisthenics - Victorian Exercises for a 21st-Century Body

Calisthenic exercises go back decades but are currently back in vogue for those wanting new challenges and a buff body.

Dan Damon travels from Regent's Park to the Motus Strength gym to speak to the social historian Hilary Marland, TV star Josh Patterson and instructor James Greenwood of The Greenwood Method, to find out more about how these kind of equipment-free exercises - once a favourite of Victorian schoolgirls - have become newly fashionable, promising spectacular results by using one's own bodyweight.
