SNP Westminster leader Angus Robertson raised the case of a seven-year-old and his family from Dingwall, whose family face deportation, at Wednesday's PMQs.

Chancellor George Osborne said the family "don't meet the immigration criteria", and said the home secretary would write to Mr Robertson about the matter.

But Mr Robertson said the case had been front-page news in Scotland, and told the chancellor about his reply: "This has been going on for weeks and that frankly is not good enough".

The Brain family, who have been living in Scotland since 2011, must leave the UK and return to Australia in six days' time if they cannot meet visa criteria.
