‘It’s not about Saturday pay’

Junior doctors at hospitals across England have begun an all-out strike for the first time in the history of the NHS.

It is the fifth strike in a long running dispute which began when talks about a new contract broke down in 2014.

The dispute is about working hours and pay, but a key sticking point is about payments for working on Saturdays.

We spoke to Dr Chris James and Dr Hamed Khan, as well as Conservative MP Andrea Jenkyns who is Chair of the All Party Group on Patient Safety.
