Housing ministers gather in the UK to discuss the world's slums

Housing ministers from across the world gather in the UK to discuss how to help hundreds of millions of people living in slums. One Planet talks to Bert Dupont from the UN Habitat office and Dr Priscilla Connolly from the University Autonoma Metropolitana plus we hear from people living in slums in Johannesburg and Buenos Aires: America considers fuel efficiency and emissions targets: former street-dweller Jockin Arputham, now with Slum Dwellers International, reveals the plight of those he represents.

"Why can't be people show concern for the suffering? I get so agitated I feel like screaming and shouting," he says.
