Shania Twain in Concert
Defining what the difference is between 'recorded live' and a 'live transmission'
When is 'live', 'live'? A listener is sceptical that a Shania Twain 'live concert' recorded in Abbey Road studios was really live. A senior producer in the Music Department clarifies that it really was recorded live, just not played out at the time it was recorded.
There are also concerns about what 'live' means in regard to news bulletins.
Other topics include: the John Peel Show, the Americanisation of English, when is a henchman a guard? What is meant by 'tribal' when talking about Pakistan?
