Zachary and Jacqui: Testing Times with Dyslexia

A mother listens for the first time to her son's fear of sitting his GCSE's. Zachary is a popular pupil at school, who's creativity and individualism has made him a favourite with his teachers. It wasn't until he was eleven that his dyslexia was diagnosed, and his mum thinks it's crazy it took her so long to recognise it. Jacqui sees it very much as a gift, but is beginning to realise that having to jump over the hurdle of the exam system is threatening to undermine his confidence. Mum hopes that the example of successful role models with dyslexia like Richard Branson and Steve Jobs will encourage him to believe that seeing the world differently can be an asset.
