Fly Tipping

Fly Tipping
Fly tipping is a problem in many places, but it's getting worse in Hull apparently.Β Β Hull City Council say they are clearing around 500 tonnes of fly tips a year.
Today the authority is expected to agree an extra 60 thousand pounds to tackle the problem in the short term.
This will cover an awareness campaign and temporary staff.

BHS

BHS
Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Hull all have a British Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Store, but for how much longer?
This morning "BHS" is expected to file for administration, putting eleven thousand jobs at risk.Β
The shop workers' union, Usdaw, says it's "very concerned" about the future of the loss-making retailer
BHS opened its first shop in London in 1928. Β It currently has 164 stores across the UK. Β But the company also has big debts and a hole in its pension fund of nearly half a billion pounds. Β "Sports Direct" is in talks over the sale of some stores. Β But the fear is the BHS brand could go the same way as "Woolworths" and "Comet" and disappear from the High Street all together.
Β Last year, BHS was sold by the entrepreneur Sir Philip Green for one pound. Β The new owners were a little-known consortium called Retail Acquisitions. Β It promised to rejuvenate the brand and last month secured major rent reductions from landlords on some of its properties. Β But efforts to get additional financing have all but collapsed. Β
