Some bandsβ commercial success burns like a Meteor in the night sky; fast and bright before fizzling out ; and Richard Greenβs Retro Show features one of those groups this weekend - HAIRCUT 100 !
Nick Heyward, Graham Jones and the rest of the band, produced one of the greatest debut albums of all time with βPelican Westβ in 1982.
It featured the hits FANTASTIC DAY, LOVE PLUS ONE and FAVOURITE SHIRTS, but then Nick left, and the band's second album failed to chart.
35 years later, Pelican West is regarded as an 80βs masterpiece, and Cornwall based GRAHAM JONES from the band joins Richard to run through his memories of that record during this episode.
