'He had five seizures back-to-back in an hour and that nearly killed him'

A charity is warning of what it says is "an enormous hidden crisis" of people in the UK with autism dying earlier than the rest of the population.

Autistica, which wants more research into the problem, says people with the condition die, on average, 16 years younger than those not affected by it.

Ian Murray, whose 20-year-old son Patrick is severely autistic, told Joanna Gosling why he was not surprised by the findings.
