Weymouth based tall ship sits high and dry in Southampton
TS Pelican is based in Weymouth. When she's home, she berths in the entrance to the harbour and is an imposing sight on the water front. Owned and operated by Weymouth based Adventure Under Sail, she regularly tours Europe and beyond, and is one of just a handful of sail training vessels.
Every few years she has to be taken out of the water for safety checks and refurbishment. But getting a tall ship out of the water takes some logistical planning, as Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Solent's reporter Neil Sackley found out when he went to visit her and her team of travelling volunteers in Southampton.
CEO of Adventure Under Sail Rikk Butler explained how she ended up ON the dockside.
