The Spitfire turns 80
It's eighty years since the first flight of the Spitfire -- the fighter which played such a prominent role in the Battle of Britain.
The prototype first took to the skies in 1936 from Eastleigh Aerodrome.
The aerodrome - now known as Southampton airport - is hosting events to celebrate the aircraft. Our correspondent Duncan Kennedy was there - and looks back at the plane's history.
