The end of Mumbai's psychedelic taxis
Since the 1960s Mumbai's Premier Padmini taxis ruled the streets with their bright colours and personalised finishes. They were cheap cars which drivers could afford, and so each one became one of a kind. New laws introduced in 2015 meant most of these unique vehicles were removed from service and relegated to the scrap pile. In his new book "Road Wallah", photographer Dougie Wallace documents the cabs, the drivers and the people who used them. He told Julian Marshall about his four year project.
