German scientists have discovered how abnormal prion proteins could lead to brain damage. Diseases including BSE and CJD are caused by prions, scientists have now discovered how these proteins kill neurons in the brain. Also in the programme, images of the birth of a star courtesy of the Hubble space telescope, and a report suggests that language evolved so we could have a good gossip. Presenter: Ruth Linton.
