The Cubs of the Caliphate

Revealing stories from around the world: children in IS territory, killings of Black teenagers in Chicago, resisting war in Ukraine, app dating in New York. With Pascale Harter.

Insightful stories from around the world: in Turkey, Quentin Sommerville meets children who had previously grown up in the so-called Islamic State, where they were taught how to denote suicide vests, witnessed executions, and were taught the IS borders stretch from the Atlantic to China. And in Chicago, Mike Wendling meets William Calloway who has been campaigning for justice for African-American teenagers killed by police. One of those officers now faces a murder charge as a result.

In Peski in eastern Ukraine, Fergal Keane returns to visit an elderly couple who are so attached to their home, and each other, that they refuse to leave their house even though it is on the front line of the war. And in New York City, app dating is all the rage. Swipe left for no thanks, or right for I'm interested? Simon Maybin investigated the highs and lows of meeting people through smartphone apps.
