PM's EU renegotiation 'an expectation management game'
David Cameronβs renegotiation of Britainβs membership of the EU has become an βexpectation management gameβ, Robert Oxley from campaign group Vote Leave has said.
He dismissed the prime ministerβs efforts as βtrivialβ and said he will βcome home empty handedβ.
Journalist Cristina Odone, the guest of the day on Fridayβs Daily Politics, said Mr Cameronβs diplomatic push for EU reform was βan amazing courtshipβ but βit's not going to lead to any kind of seductionβ.
They were speaking as Mr Cameron travelled to Prague on the latest leg of his renegotiation mission.
He hopes to get a deal agreed at February's EU summit, paving the way for a referendum, which he has promised to hold by the end of 2017.
