The population of cod in the North Sea has been declining from the mid 1970s onwards and in 1997 is at risk of collapse. Swift action is needed to protect cod from overfishing.

Also on the programme wetlands destruction and the impact of the Paraguay-ParanΓ΅ Hidrovia on the region's Pantanal wetlands.
