From heavy industry to mining, from oil to jellyfish - the many threats to the Caspian Sea
The damming of the Volga, heavy industry, pollution, mining, heavy metals, oil extraction, waste water from a nuclear reactor and an invasive species of jellyfish called mnemiopsis means that the Caspian Sea is on the verge of ecological collapse.
