Caspian Sea Under Threat

From heavy industry to mining, from oil to jellyfish - the many threats to the Caspian Sea

The damming of the Volga, heavy industry, pollution, mining, heavy metals, oil extraction, waste water from a nuclear reactor and an invasive species of jellyfish called mnemiopsis means that the Caspian Sea is on the verge of ecological collapse.

Also on the programme red seals in the River Thames estuary and South Africa's environmental radio station, Radio Safari.
