'Healthy lifestyle key to preventing cancer'

Healthy lifestyles over the long-term are key to preventing cancer, according to specialist Professor Karol Sikora.
Speaking to Joanna Gosling on the Victoria Derbyshire programme he said the importance of diet and exercise should be a public health priority.
He made the comments following the publication of a new study, in the journal Nature, which suggests that cancer is overwhelmingly a result of environmental factors and not largely down to bad luck.
Earlier this year, researchers sparked a debate after suggesting two-thirds of cancer types were down to misfortune rather than factors such as smoking.
The new study used four approaches to conclude only 10-30% of cancers were down to the way the body naturally functions.
