The science behind ocean acidification

Climate change is having a profound impact on the world's oceans, which are absorbing around a quarter of the carbon we are emitting into the air. Our environment correspondent Matt McGrath sought the help of ocean acidification expert Professor Jason Hall-Spencer of Plymouth University to see what happens in areas there is higher acidity in the water. Professor Hall-Spencer dives near undersea volcanoes to see what happens in areas where the acidity is higher, and he designed an experiment for Matt to explain what's happening in the seas.
