The Sun Newspaper Drops Paywall

Britain's biggest selling tabloid newspaper the Sun is today offering its content for free online once again. The change of heart is all about the numbers. Its rivals Mail Online and the Mirror were getting millions more readers on the web. And the trend to share news on social media platforms meant the Sun was missing out on click-through views. But its publisher, Rupert Murdoch-owned News UK, says it will still keep the Times and Sunday Times online versions subscription only. So are readers now becoming a lot more fussy about just what kind of journalism they will pay for? Chris Duncan, chief marketing officer of News UK told Susannah Streeter that ditching the paywall made good business sense.
