Putin: 'Russia Crisis Has Peaked'
Will Russia escape recession next year as President Putin predicts? And, will tougher laws on the criminal liability of gun dealers help prevent more mass killings in the US?
Russia is mired in what could soon be its longest recession since the 1990s. Inflation and unemployment are high, the currency has slumped, but President Putin believes that the worst is over. He says Russia will emerge from recession in 2016. A former finance minister and deputy chair of the central bank, Sergey Aleksashenko, tells us why he thinks the president is wrong.
Also, we consider the increasingly divisive political argument over US gun control. Should dealers be immune from criminal liability if they sell guns that get used for murder? We have an exclusive report from the US and speak to Lindsay Nichols, a senior attorney at the San Francisco Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.
