The West sends more forces against IS
The US, UK and Germany decided to increase military pressure on so-called Islamic State.
The US said it would send special forces into Syria to help the fight against IS, while parliaments in the UK and Germany also decided to step up their countries' military action. But prospects for a political resolution seem as hazy as ever.
