Lockgates replaced on Grand Union Canal

A major operation is underway near Daventry to replace lockgates on the Grand Union Canal.

The old three-tonne gates at two locks at Whilton have been removed, and new ones are being lifted in by crane. A section of the canal has been drained so the work can be carried out.

It's part of a Β£45m project to improve Britain's waterways.
