Labour MP Chuka Umunna has called for an end to a "nasty troll-form of politics" in his party.

Speaking on the Today programme, the former shadow business secretary said MPs should be able to air different views on issues including shoot-to-kill and military intervention in Syria 鈥渨ithout being insulted, without being trolled, without being threatened with deselection鈥�.

"Ultimately there are people in our party who are pacifists, who would never ever sanction the use of lethal force or military intervention in any circumstances,鈥� he told presenter Justin Webb.

"I don't share those views nor do the majority of people in the country.鈥�
