10. FROM 1960: Etch-a-sketch

The Etch A Sketch was invented by a French mechanic and the magical drawing toy became THE big hit of Christmas 1960.

9. FROM 1977: Star Wars Figures

Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Chewbacca and R2-D2 were miniaturized and sold to fans in unbelievable numbers. The original 1978 figures are now valued at over Β£10,000.

Originally called The Magic Cube - the multi coloured puzzle was a must-have for children, many of whom resorted to peeling the stickers off to solve it.
