Puerto Rico: Rich Get Lucky
Tax breaks for the rich in Puerto Rico, just as thousands of poor locals are leaving, a digital wallet to foil the thieves, and Myanmar's economy on the eve of historic elections.
We look at the increasingly divided economy of Puerto Rico. Three months after the Governor there pronounced an economic death spiral, Ed Butler reports from the Caribbean island on controversial laws providing tax breaks to rich Americans. Also a smart new digital wallet designed to foil the thieves: we speak to its creator, Gino Pereira, chief executive of the biometric and encryption company Nxt-id. And our South East Asia business correspondent, Karishma Vaswani, considers the state of investor confidence in Myanmar on the eve of historic elections.
