A report on an African conference on nutrition and HIV, in Durban, South Africa. The conference sought to address the challenges of malnutrition and poor healthcare in Africa. Better nourished mothers are less likely to transmit HIV to their babies are an example of how good nutrition can help offset some of the worst symptoms of HIV and maximise the efficacy of antiretroviral drugs.
