Chlamydia and gonorrhea are responsible for the majority of eye infections caught by babies at birth in the developing world. The infection can often be prevented by wiping the eyes of the baby with a sterile solution at birth. Also in the programme how family planning in Ethiopia is helping get much-needed contraception to many women.
