Black people are three times more likely than white people to be involved in Taser incidents, 麻豆约拍 Office figures disclosed to the 麻豆约拍 suggest.
The electric stun gun was drawn, aimed or fired 38,000 times in England and Wales over five years; in more than 12% of cases against black people, who make up about 4% of the population.
Stephon McCallar - who was tasered five years ago - told the programme it was an ongoing problem that was getting monotonous: "You would think they would have stopped it [by now], but obviously their perception of black people, I don't know why they're doing this".
While Rick Muir, Director of the Police Foundation, an independent research body that deals with police issues, said it was not clear whether police officers were "unconsciously biased" or because social inequality meant certain ethnic groups were "more likely to come into contact with the police and criminal justice system".
