The Ark of Taste: The Yeosan Ogye black chicken
A striking breed - the Yeosan Ogye chicken is completely black - from its beak to its tail feathers. Named after the village from where it originates, it has been prized through time not only for the flavour of the meat, but for its medicinal properties when stewed in a soup. But there remains only one breeder. Dan Saladino speaks to Lee Seung Suk who wants to preserve this chicken like her ancestors have done before her.
