Mother and son Mary and Ephraim recall the day Ephraim took part in the demonstration
Mother and son Mary and Ephraim Nguwe reflect on the Soweto riots in June 1976, when police opened fire on a crowd of students protesting at the use of Afrikaans in schools. Twenty-three demonstrators were killed and 200 others were wounded.
Ephraim took part in the demonstration and witnessed the massacre.
