Angolan Refugees in Zambia
Refugees explain their experiences of the Angolan civil war
A familiar pattern emerged during the Angolan civil war saw government forces capture a local area and distribute weapons to civilians, turning them into a military target in the eyes of UNITA. Then the government forces left, abandoning the civilians to their fate and advising them to go as refugees to Zambia.
