Enlarging the EU is of highest strategic importance, says commissioner GΓΌnter Verheugen
GΓΌnter Verheugen, European Commissioner for Enlargement, wants an area of peace, stability and properity from the Baltic to the Black Sea. Hoping to be invited join the EU at the Copenhagen summit in December are: Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Cyprus and Malta.
