Shah of Iran is Exiled
Farah Pahlavi, the Shah's wife on living elsewhere, from Egypt to Morocco to the Bahamas
"I still keep hope that one day I will return to my country."
Farah Pahlavi was married to the Shah of Iran for 20 years. On 16 January 1979, as the country was in the midst of an Islamic revolution, she and the Shah left the country and went into exile never to return.
The former empress tells the story of the months that followed when she and her husband travelled the world in the hope of finding a country that would welcome them.
