In 1789, with his court duties as Emperor Joseph's chamber music composer requiring nothing more than cheerful dances, Mozart took to the road, accompanying Prince Karl Lichnowsky to Germany.
But back in Vienna, financial cares descended again, and he and his wife fell ill.
