World Service Schedule Shake-up

World Service radio's English-language schedules will soon undergo huge changes

World Service radio schedules are changing, so programmes will be better suited to listeners' local time of day. Programmes will also target different parts of the world. Thus, for instance, the single African stream will divide into East African and West African streams, and Asia will split into three different regions in four time zones. The other-language or "vernacular" schedules will remain largely unchanged.
