World Service jammed by Iraq after Invasion of Kuwait
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ World Service programming jammed in the Middle East at the start of the Gulf War
On 3 August, one day after the invasion of Kuwait, Iraq started jamming the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's broadcasts in Arabic to the Middle East. How this has been done and advice to listeners on searching for increased frequency range, plus notification of extended broadcasts in both Arabic and English to the Middle East, along with extra daily programmes for British forces. In Latin America, a new 24-hour satellite service for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Spanish and Portuguese-language programming, as well as some English and Caribbean content.
