VW scandal spreads to Europe

The German government says the VW emissions scandal affects Europe as well.

Germany's transport minister has said the car maker has now admitted using the same fake emissions test in Europe as it used to falsify results in the US. It comes a day after the company's chief executive quit; a successor is expected to be appointed tomorrow. We speak to Stefan Vosswinkle, from the German car magazine Autobild, and sustainable transport consultant Ben Lane.

EU leaders have pledged one billion euros to help Syrian refugees following an emergency leaders' summit. We get analysis from Sebastien Dullien from the European Council on Foreign Relations, and Hans Werner Sinn, president of the IFO - the German Institute for Economic Research.
