The wife of a Royal Marine who was jailed for life for killing a Taliban fighter has launched a campaign to have his case reviewed. Sergeant Alexander Blackman - who was initially known as Marine A - was convicted of murdering the injured captive in Afghanistan. His supporters say evidence was withheld that could have seen him convicted of manslaughter rather than murder - and that the trial did not take into account the fact that the killing happened in a war zone. Sgt Blackman was recorded telling his comrades: "Obviously this doesn't go anywhere, fellas. I just broke the Geneva convention."
Speaking from Taunton, Sgt Blackman's wife Claire told the programme that he had believed the insurgent was already dead when he fired the fatal shot.
